Join Collegium Institute and Durandus Institute on Friday, September 8 at 7pm at St. Agatha-St. James Church for Sacred Liturgy and Music for Vespers for the Feast of the Nativity of Mary. This evening choral experience will feature musical compositions by William Byrd (d.1623), in commemoration of his 400th anniversary. Byrd, a covert Catholic in the Elizabethan court, was perhaps the greatest composer of the English Renaissance. Brief reflections on his life and achievement will be delivered by musicologist and organist, Dr. William Gatens.
A reception will follow in the Newman Center park.
